About Micheal Williams

Mr. Michael Williams was raised in Southern Dallas, where he attended Carter High School. While at Carter, he excelled both academically and athletically, earning a place on the school’s basketball team. His outstanding performance on the court led to a basketball scholarship at Baylor University. Through his talent, dedication, and passion for the game, Mr. Williams earned a spot in the 1988 NBA Draft, where he was selected by the Detroit Pistons. Over the course of his NBA career, he achieved numerous milestones with being apart of the Bad Boys Champion Team, including setting the NBA record for most consecutive free throws (97).

During his professional career, Mr. Williams demonstrated a strong commitment to giving back, establishing a foundation to support children in their educational pursuits. Following his retirement from the NBA, he returned to Dallas to launch his own business while continuing to pursue his philanthropic vision. This commitment culminated in the creation of the Mike Williams Assist 4 Life Foundation (MWA4LF).

The foundation’s mission is to empower children through education, with a particular focus on high-need schools and students. MWA4LF actively forms strategic partnerships and engages talented, dedicated individuals to ensure the success of its programs and, most importantly, the children it serves. Through these efforts, Mr. Williams continues to make a meaningful impact on the Dallas community and beyond.
